WHAT WE DO
Fundación La Gafa is a non-profit organization that offers tools to see the world better. Together, with donors and volunteers, we carry out optometry exams, donate prescription glasses and share messages of solidarity, empowerment, hope and peace through workshops and recreational activities.
PAST ACTIVITIES
CHÍA, CUNDINAMARCA
Promote participation and social integration
In a day of games and adventures we shared with boys and girls from the most vulnerable sectors of the municipality of Chía. We carried out: inclusion, participation and peace workshops; 47 optometry exams and we donated 31 prescription glasses.
INÍDIRA, GUAINÍA
Develop reconciliation programs
Our volunteers traveled to fulfill the extraordinary mission of bringing messages of peace and hope to 2,700 minors from communities affected by the Colombian armed conflict and other situations of violence.
CHOACHÍ, CUNDINAMARCA
Support the Colombian countryside
We donated prescription glasses to rural women to facilitate their activities in the Colombian countryside. Martha was one of the beneficiaries who, at 43, decided to study and become a professional. Currently, she is working with women from her community and together they are running a small business to produce and distribute organic yogurt.
BOGOTÁ, CUNDINAMARCA
Give and receive love
We shared smiles during an afternoon of playful activities and delivered Christmas gifts to children in need with the Colombian Air Force and our partner foundation, Niños con Alma Feliz.
